No Delivery Alarm - Minimed

My daughter is 17 and was diagnosed at age 8.
She has been on the pump for 1 year, with good results.
Over the past 7 days, she has recieved a "no delivery"
warning numerous times, and after changing her site
2-3 times a day, decided to go back to regular injections.
Minimed sent us a different set, but the alarms persisted.
I was wondering if anyone here, who has used the pump for at least
a year, ever went through anything like this? The rep said it could
be scar tissue or she is hitting a muscle. The catheter sometimes has a slight bend
or kink after she removes it, but not always. Thanks for you assistance!

Hi, I have ahd the same problem, since 1-07. I too changed my site 3 times in one day. Got a replacement pump, about 1 week later the alarms started again. i was using the quikset infusion. They sent me samples of a bunch of other infusions. and a 6mm quik set. i use my entire body for sites. I started using the silhouette( the short one) on my 3rd day i got another alarm. My nurse said try the 6mm quik set. that 1 worked a few changes, then alarms started again. i went back to the silhouette short again, and so far so good. did about 4 site changes. My Dr said children on pumps use the 6 mm quik set with out any problems. i an very slender about 115 lbs, but according to nurse & dr, i have alot of muscle. My dr also said , if I wanted(if alarms keep coming) he'd change my insuling to apedra. i don't know how to spell it. i spelt it the way it sounds. this new insulin has less problem with the occulsions. If i ever get another alarm, I will switch. I hope every thing works out ok for your daughter. a No Delivery alarm is very scary. I too sometimes crimped & sometimes not. I really don't want to stay with the silhouette. My husband will insert the needle, needs to be trained by my nurse, & my daughter ( she's 18 ) will not do it. They would insert the quik set in my back & butt. Good Luck and take care. Let me know what happens, maybe I got 2 bad pumps!

I have been on the pump for almost 10 years. Luv it!! Numbers are so much better and so flexible!! I had the same alarm once and they sent me a new pump next day. And it was an electrical problem in the pump. They are very good at getting them taken care.

Most pump companies warranty the pumps for 4 years.  that is why most insurnace companies will nly pay for a new pump every 4years. NEVER be afraid to call your pump compny if you think there is a problem.  they take the problem seriously becayuse they know it could mean like or death.

I have had my mini med pump since Thanksgiving and luckily I've only had that code once it was a defect in the infusion set and I changed it and it worked properly after that.  When she's getting the no delivery alarm is her #'s going up, Or is it just an error msg?  It should still be under warrenty and they should fix the problem.

I am a volunteer whose daughter has been on minimed pumps for 4 years now. Call minimed NOW and ask for a supervisor and tell them that you want a replacement pump.  That there is something wrong with the pump.   We had the problem once and they immediately sent a new pump that we had the next day.   There wound up being a problem with the pump.

We must remember that is a piece of electrical equipment and it can break and something can go wrong.

They should send you a new pump no problem I have never had a situation where I asked for a replacement because of a problem, and did not get one.   We usually get it over night.

I would aaslo ask them to send you a few bend needle  sites it is an actuall needle it is the first site we used. We use it when we have kinking ptroblems to eliminalte the site as the needle cannot kink.

I hope this helps. Please check back and let me know what happens.
