sweet smelling skin?

I notice that every so often my 15 month old has a sweet smell to her skin. Itseems most obvious after a bit of excitement and activity, particularly after she's been sweating. Someone from another site that I posted her symptoms had mentioned diabetes.Because of medical problems she's been having since she was 6 months old, she'd been through all sorts of tests. Now, being that my 4 year old was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last year, naturally, that was one of the many tests she's had done. Her results came back fine. I've even checked her sugar. It was perfect. I also haven't noticed any of the other tell tale signs that my other daughter presented. SO, am I missing something? Any info would be appreciated.

I am not a physician, both a volunteer and the mom o a type 1 diabetic.

Here are some of the symptoms of diabetes, People who think they might have diabetes must visit a physician for diagnosis. They might have SOME or NONE of the following symptoms:

Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Unexplained weight loss
Extreme hunger
Sudden vision changes
Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
Feeling very tired much of the time
Very dry skin
Sores that is slow to heal
Vagial infections
Nausea, vomiting, or stomach pains may accompany some of these symptoms in the abrupt onset of insulin-dependent diabetes, now called type 1 diabetes.
sweet smelling urine
sweet smelling breath

I have not heard of sweet smelling sweat, but I would suggest if your child has any of the symptoms listed above you call your doctor and have your child tested.

I am a type 1 diabetic, and while I have never experienced this myself, I have been told by my endocrinologist in the past that sweet smeling skin is a sign of high blood sugar..possibly ketones.
