Pllease help asap

Hi All,
I am hoping you can help me with something that I am really worried about.
For 2 weeks now, I have felt just like `crap:  Dizzy, weak, throwing up all sorts of things that are like a flu, but I knew in my heart, there was something really wrong with me.
My husband, took me to the Doctor for blood tests.
The office called me today to say my sugar level 1s 7.9, but she would have the Doctor call me later to explain further etc.
In the meantime, I have no clue what this means and my father is in intensive care and I just received a phone call saying that they want to take him off of life support and to gather my family to go.
What can I do or not do for now to get the strength for the next couple of day.
If I am being insensitive or`ìgnorant`to anybody, please forgvie me.
Thank you,
Linda

Sorry to hear about your dad I know how stressful that can be. You need to call your dr ASAP and get in there. You need to take care of yourself before you can take care of someone else. I know it's hard to think about yourself at a time like this, but it isn't normal to feel the way you do for so long.

Keep us posted.

Hi WaveRider,
Thank you for this response. My Father but for the Grace of God, has remained breathing after they removed his respirator.  Our prayer worked and we continue to do so.  The questions you are asking are totatlly foreign to me so perhaps if I share the symptoms this will be more helpful.  Out of the blue, 10 days ago I threw up quite violently.  I felt fine afterwards but remained nauseous.  The next 3-4 days were awful.  I felt nauseous, weak and unsteady on my feet.  I did not have a fever or any other flu symtoms.  I went to the Dr.s and he did the blood tests.  As the office knew how totally rotten I felt they called to say just that my sugar's were out of whack and that was the only thing that would be so off to explain why I felt so bad.  They have yet to follow up totally and I am just scared...

I'm very sorry to hear about your father's condition. My condolences go out to you and your family.

No question is insensitive or ignorant, only those that are not asked. As far as your '7.9' we need to know the type of test - fasting, OGTT, A1c - in order to provide you with a proper answer. And if the 7.9 was measured in mg/dl or mmol/l or percentage. Try not overburden yourself with worries until you hear back from your doctor.
