That isnt true i check between 10 -15 times a day sometimes more as much as every hour to half and hour. I just had my son on aug 20 so i had lots of problems with highs and lows and I just recently got on the pump so im not checking so much but i still have to check at least 10 times a day. I will be getting on the real time monitor soon and that checks every 15mins so the only thing that happens when you check alot is sore fingurs.
I have been told by people i check way to much. but my doctor has me check that much. I guess it all depends on how your body works and my is very challenging when it comes to sugars.
My daughter checks her sugar around 6-8 times a day on a good day. It is very important to alternate fingers. There are checkers that allow you to test on other parts of your body but you have to be careful in doing this as the results vary depending on where you check from.
Im on a pump but Im also pregnant and i test about 8-9 times a day to make sure the baby stays healthy.
My son has type 1 diabetes and tests 4 to 6 times a day. Diabetics that wear a pump have to test before and after meals. You should be fine just remember to alternate fingers.
No, I test between 5 and 10 times per day. I think the better you know your blood glucose levels the better control you have.
