If any diabetic, type 1 or type 2 is overweight, then by all means, work hard to lose those extra pounds, for fat cells are insulin resistant, and the leaner you are, the less insulin your body will require. It sounds like you are working hard at it, and I encourage you.
I am very determined to be free from insulin by the end of this year and am prepared to go to any length to achieve this. What I did with the Lantis was took 160 units at 5pm and then again at 9:30pm I took another 80 units this is still 50units short of what I was taking normally (I also take Novo rapid 50 units 3 times a day. That is a total of 4 needles a day. I have not been taking the quick acting insulin with my new Lantis experiment.) - I made sure I was checking my levels at lease every 3 hours. The result for me at this stage was all my levels are below 7 which in my books is a good thing (because of high sugar levels I had lost my license due to the fact I was legally blind - since then I treated my self with turmeric and now hold an unrestricted license) So with no real Dr's help or education I was n a bad way, I had to educate myself and so I did.
Most of my Dr's (and there is a lot of them) simply say I an an alien and give up very quickly. Not me however! I have found a way to loose some weight around my liver which in turn causes the pancreas to be able to work a little better. All this including some good eating tips from natural therapists and using God's rule (if it does not look like God made it; you shouldn't eat it!) as well as the new knowledge I found out about Bitter Melon - this little beauty actually lowers the blood sugar levels quite a lot (I am going to buy a dehydrator and make my own powder and take this 3 times a day, because I know it works!
The long and short of it all my friends is know your body and take the control back. The Dr's word is only a guide. God's word is a lot more reliable. I live now in a very happy state and shine for all to see. I hope what I have said makes some sense to at lease one person. Thank you for your time
