Should I get an omnipod? I was diagnosed five months ago, and I just wanted a few people to explain if a pump is a good idea. Thanks. Just wondering

I have been a diabetic type 1 since I was 14, I'm 21 now. I havehaven't had a pump but that's a choice you have to make on your own. I will say that it isn't a bad idea to look into getting one. My cousins have them and they say its a lot better than needles or the pens.

It is very personal if a pump is right for you.
I don't want a pump because of a number of reasons, including:-

1. Cost
2. Medical waste (the amount of medical waste from the pump is very big compared to just using injections).
3. I am already having excellent control on injections (and why change what is not broken).
4. I don't want to be attached to any medical device.

Research, take your time and maybe you can even get to trial a pump before deciding to proceed with it longer term.
