should a toddler

i  was wondering if its normal for a toddler to get blood sugars over 200 and not be a diabetic ? My son is 2 and we have had on 4 separate occations of blood sugar over 200 and one was over 300 , it is starting to concern me. I have heard that only diabetic should go over 200. yes i do wash his hand before testing my mother and a few cousins are diabetic so i have been testing him once and a while. he now is also drinking and peeing alot.

Sounds like your endo is on it, buddlemama. Let us know the results. If he is diagnosed, send me a PM and I'll give you the name of a website with lots of diabetics including parents.

I agree with Firefae. Those numbers are in the diabetic range and he is showing symptoms. Take him in and get an A1C done (an average of blood sugars for a couple months) to see if he is diabetic. If his numbers rise and he is not treated, he could start to show symptoms of DKA which are similar to a flu and vomiting and that is a medical emergency.
