I guess I was hoping that my glucose being 126 without fasting was nothing to worry about, but I am getting the a1c test in a few weeks.
I am not sure about these test, that is why I posted if I should get tested or not, but at least you seem to have a doctor that is caring and concerned. Not all doctors are this way. I hope all works out for you
When your nonfasting blood test comes back with a count of over 100 tryglycerics it means that your glucose blood count is too high. Anything over 100 tryglycer.... is a reason to have your glucose blood counted. Do whatever the doctor tells you to do in preparation for the diabetes test. God Blessings
Once again, I stand corrected. Thanks!!
Anita
Thanks for all the input, I just don,t get how she could say I have diabetes from a 126 glucose and I wasn't fasting for the last 2 test. I wasn't sure if the Dr was just a waste of my time diagnosing me on 2 non-fasting results.
Your doctor is correct. To quote the Mayo Clinic, "The A1C test is a simple blood test. You can eat and drink normally before the test."
I asked the Dr if I needed to fast for this test and she told me no, I am really confused with all this
Be sure you fast for the A1c test. That is important.
The A1c test will determine if you are diabetic or not
