Hypothyroid and Diabetes

I have been diagnosed recently that my TSH is 12 which is very low thyroid...I tend to get dizzy, light head, and anxiety, dry mouth and eye irritations often. I also feel that Diabetes also have simillar symptoms. I was not told that I have blood sugar problems by the Doctors. But seems like all the symptoms of diabetes. I am scared and my day to day life is at mess due to all these physical conditions that I face. Can some one advise me whether Thyroid and Diabetes problems are alike? Is there any cure ? I am planning to get my blood work once again and currently looking for a good doctor at NJ.

It sounds like you are dealing with a bit.  Most people feel best when their TSH is around 1 take or give a little.  Don't take your thyroid pills with milk and hold off on any vitamins for and hour at least. (check out the thyroid forum)
Your thyroid is probably causing a lot of the issues and yes it can get confusing on what is causing what.  BP and body temp is good to keep an eye on too.

Finding a good doctor is the best start.  I would write down all of your symptoms and give them the list.  Having your sugar checked would be in order along with thyroid antibodies.  I feel as if a lot of the symptoms intertwine.  I was told exercise and diet are VERY important with sugar issues.  I would imagine you are very tired though with a TSH of 12.  Urggg

Sorry I'm new to diabetes issues myself.  I hope someone else can help you out better than I.  Take care.
