Thanks so much for all your input. Unfortunately, Starlix is not working as much due to the unfortunate possibility of transitioning from Type II to Type I.. My next step is insulin, but before that, I will be combining my Starlix with Metfromin XR.
I appreciate the insight on the book too as I love to read and research.
I was just curious what drug has worked well for others with Type II. Look forward to more conversation in group.
Hi,
I'd to remind you that all oral diabetes 2 medications, including Metformin, only works for you for sometime, a couple years ..maybe.and all of them have side effects, unfortunately.
Read this book:Diabetes Solutions by DR. Richard Bernstein or at least log on Amazon.com to read the reviews on his book. This book is arguably the most important book on diabetes 2. Good luck.
Amaryl induces secretion of insulin from pancreas, so its most effective.
There are several combination oral diabetes pills that combine two medications into one tablet. Examples of this is are Actosplus Met, Duetact, Glucovance, Janumet, and Metaglip. Advandamet and Avandyrl were pulled off the mkt [recalled].
Since you didn't provide us with names of medications you tried you should research the seven classes of oral diabetes medications, then discuss the available medications under each class with your doctor. Starlix falls into the class of meglitinides [nonsulfonylurea].
Amaryl should be the solution.Seems you've developed immunity to Starlix.
