thanks for your valuueable guide to me.one question: the importance precision or reliability of which test is more? a1c or fbs.? another question.when i see my test results in 2 past yearsit seems when my fbs increase than pat test(that would be about 2 or 3 months ago) the a1c decrease than past test.i guess this would be abnormal. what about your idea about this?
Hi,
You a1c is at the top of totally normal. Your FBS is a bit higher than ideal. At this point it is really hard to say if you are at risk or not. However, I would recommend that you consider yourself at risk and adopt lifestyle that will prevent further development, if ever. The most important thing is a lower carb diet. This doesn't just mean no sweets, but also means limiting all grains and fruits and starchy vegetables. Instead you eat protein, plenty of unprocessed fats, and unlimited non-starchy veges. Keep up the exercise. Would recommend you repeat the a1c in 6 months (along with fasting glucose) to keep track of things.
