11 yo spayed GSD with vaginal bleeding

My 11 year old GSD who was spayed at 10 months has been having constant vaginal bleeding / dripping for almost a month now.  Our vet checked a CBC, Chemistry Panel and Urinalysis which showed no anemia, normal platelets, normal renal function and no indication of a urinary tract infection or hematuria.  Physical exam is unremarkable except for oozing blood at the vaginal orrifice.  We initially tried a course of augmentin suspecting a UTI on the first visit before the urinalysis.  That seemed to help marginally.

I've seen case reports of vaginal bleeding after spaying scondary to retained ovarian tissue, but 10 years out seems unrelated.

What's the differential diagnosis and what are my next steps in the workup?  Unfortunately my vet has no radiologic capabilities and is stumped.

Thanks,
The Frustrated ER Doc!

There could be a number of reasons this is happening from some retained ovarian tissue to vaginitis, bladder infection, etc.  Don't want to alarm you but could also be a pre-cancer or cancer. Could be an infection to the stump that was left......... Were any cultures done?  UTI's can sometimes need more then one course of antibiotics.
I know of a 10-year old Dobie that had these symptoms

What's the most common reason that can cause bloody discharge from my dogs vagina 1 month after being spayed? She seems normal. No swelling or anything but is discharging blood clots.

I'd imagine the next step would be a consult with someone who has imaging available, or who has advanced knowledge in the field.

You don't say where you are located.  Are you in the US?  If so, there should be vets within reach who can investigate this furthur.
