4 yr old Shih Tzu vomiting

I have a 4 yr old female Shih Tzu that suffers from allergies, skin and tummy :( I've tried every food on the market, but I have her on one now that she does fairly well with and she really likes. Still, she has to take Prednisone and/or Vistaril for her itchy skin. About every 3 months I have to take her to the Vet for an Anti-Inflammatory injection as well.
Anyway, it's about that time again and she's started vomiting again, bright yellow... I feel horrible for her. The Vet gave me a liquid form of Zantac but everytime she sees me get the syringe she runs and hides :/  Yesterday, she spit it back out in my face, poor baby, it must taste terrible.
I see here that someone mentioned Pepcid? Could anyone tell me how I would go about giving that to her? She weighs between 10-13 pounds depending on how well she keeps food down. Any advice would be great!
I lost my 4 1/2 yr old Peek a little over 4 yrs ago from Renal Failure. She had allergies as well and had to take Prenisone etc... I worry about my little girl. I know these drugs are hard are their systems, but I'm at a loss as to what else to do.
TIA

Hello & Welcome......The Pepcid dose is 4-8 mg. every 12-24 hrs. for a dog her weight. The regular Tablet is 10mg., She can have either 1/2 or whole one (Once or twice a day) I'd start on the Low end........My 15lb. Poodle mix takes 1/2 as needed....I put it in cheese or peanut butter or a pill pocket.

Now, The yellow vomit.....Is it foamy?  Or does it contain food? What part of the day does she do this? Any certain time?

What are you feeding her and how often does she eat?

(I know everyone on this forum dreads for me to ask about food, but I had to!)     ;)

Let me know........Karla

P.S. I'm terribly sorry about your Peke.....

Thanks SO much Karla :) you are a sweetheart!
She doesn't have any particular time of day when she vomits, but for the past several days she's not had much of an apetite. She drinks plenty of water but it seems to make her even more nauseous.
I have no choice but to take her to the Vet first thing in the am. So I know that the Kenalog injection will help her for 2 - 3 months with her allergies and the vomiting usually gets better soon after the injection as well.
I just hate my lil girl has to suffer in any way. I am "one of those ppl" that treats my dog like my child, but she's such a sweetheart and when she begins to feel poorly, she always lets me know. She stays pretty much attached to me where ever I go. Anytime I sit down, she jumps up in my lap and looks at me w/ those big beautiful brown eyes as if she's saying, "Help me mommy" :((

She is also paying LOTS of attention to her left ear, scratching, tilting her head to the side, but when she scratches, it looks as if it's painful to her, she scratches in almost "slow motion" If that makes any sense. I've tried looking in her ears, but she will have none of that! :O
I reallllllly do appreciate you Karla and will let you know what the Vet says when I get back home =)
Blessings and again.... THANK YOU!!!
btw.... thanks for mentioning my Peek :) I actually held her for 8 hours after she passed! I couldn't bare to let her go..... I said that day I would NEVER allow myself to love another, yet here I am.... hmmmmmmm
There's sooooo much to say about the unconditional love a pet can provide.... The women I bought my Peek from could see how upset I was over Zoe's passing, that she actually Gave Magnolia to me 2 days after Zoe died. I told her I didn't think I could love her, so she said, give it a few days and if you see that you can't bond with Magnolia, bring her back... Of Course, I was inlove by the end of the evening...... smile :)
I believe that GOD put them here for a reason, perhaps to teach us about "Unconditional Love"?
At any rate, I love her unconditionally, right back ;-) I have to put her pony tails and bows in everyday and she actually LOVES it! She's so foo foo...... LOL
