6 month old, pure-bred pit bull destroyed my room; chewed and possibly ate some things. Please HELP!

I have a wonderful 6 month old, pure-bred blue nosed pit bull. He is my pride and joy, and I am now very worried. I am away from home on business, and received a call from my significant other that our "Chico" had broken out of his metal crate and destroyed our bedroom. Since I am not home and I cannot fully assess his condition, I am going nuts. He chewed and possibly swallowed the following items: 75% of a red wicker hamper, clothes, magazines, newspapers, pill bottles (empty--I am sure of it), a cosmetic bag with eyeshadow, lipstick, lip gloss, brushes, concealer, foundation, and unfortunately a tube of Bikini Zone (for razor burn). I'm not positive on what else he may have eaten, but I am worried sick about my baby. I've been told that pit bulls are very resilient, so I am trying to stay positive. After my significant other cleaned our home up after "Hurricane Chico" as he called it, the puppy ate dinner, drank, and went outside like usual. Should I be worried? Has anyone else gone through this? Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Yes I think an x-ray might be a wise move especially if some of the things he destroyed are not still around (chewed or not) If some items seem to have disappeared or part-disappeared, then he might well have swallowed them.
The make up may not be dangerously toxic for him as it cannot be too toxic for use on lips and skin....but certainly the packaging might be difficult for him to pass especially if it was plastic and bitten off in chunks.
It might be good to go and get him checked out.

My guess is he'll be fine (though quite why, I can't imagine!)

You MIGHT consider having your significant-other take Chico to the vet for an abdominal x-ray, just to be on the safe side. I sure would hate for one of those pieces of wicker to try and come out SIDEWAYS!

Better safe than sorry, and if you're as proud of him and love him as much as you appear to, then spending a couple hundred dollars on x-rays should be a drop in the bucket.

Let us know how it turns out... I'm curious, as he swallowed a mouthful!

They are well known for eating everything, they are food driven. was your significant other home when he did this??? I wouldnt be worried about Chico he should be fine.. But if he does go off his food or he does start to act differently and he isn't himself then i would advise take him to the vet.
