Broken leg - advise needed

Our toy poodle puppy is 5 months old and is 3 lbs now. She jumped off of a chair and broke her front leg. The vet said the cast would be enough and the surgery is not required. However the x-ray shows that the bones are not aligned perfectly. I understand that he is a professional but I have already had experience with some incompetent vets and cannot rule out this one to be another example. I will probably get an advise from another vet but also want to hear your opinions. Has anyone had the same kind of problem? Here are the x-ray shots. The last 2 are taken with the cast in place.

This is only my (unprofessional) opinion, but I do question how the bones are aligned. They are not aligned. My feeling about it (simple instinct) is that if there was a gap, that wouldn't be so bad, as new tissue would eventually grow quite well to fill the gap.
But on those X rays, the bones slip sideways on each other and are not aligned.
My feeling is you should consult an orthopedic specialist.

We had a pup that fell one story (from a deck, slipped under the railing) and broke a front leg.  I wasn't home at the time (traveling on business) and my wife took him to the vet.  I did not see X-rays or question, but I recall all that was done was a metal hoop ran along the length of the leg and was somehow connected at the shoulder.  He would run around the house, tap, tap, tap... and I remember putting a plastic bag on his leg for him to go outside to toilet when it was wet.

The bottom line, the brace was removed after some weeks (don't remember) and his leg was fine for the next 15 years.

I can't see the x-rays clearly enough and am no expert.
Shannon, on this Forum, may be able to help you better.

I had a younger pup once with a broken rear leg that was casted.  She did heal up fine but that leg was always a "bit" off.

If you have access to one,see if you have a canine Orthopedist around you can consult and show him/her the x-rays.
