can dogs get chlamydia from humans?

a bit personal :( i was diagnosed with chlamydia after a condom breaking and being with a dishonest guy, i was curious if it were possible for dogs to catch it from getting into girly trash? also i know it can be in the mouth as well, is it possible for them to get it from giving puppy kisses?

Dogs can be infected by a form of chlamydia called chlamydia psittaci, which is found in bird droppings.  This form comes from psittacine birds, or more recognizably, birds in the parrot family (hookbills).  Parakeets, parrots, conures, etc.  It usually manifests as conjunctivitis.  Cats, too, can develop this.

It's doubtful that your dog will have any problems from rooting through your trash, but it's still a good idea to secure the trash somehow so that he can't get into it, either with a lid or by putting it into a vanity cabinet and putting a child-proof lock thingy on the door.

I cannot, in any of the research I have done, fine any instances of human chlamydia being transmitted to a dog.  I don't believe that it is considered to be zoonotic.
