dry pads...

my dogs are inside/outside dogs. we go for walks and what not. i was petting them the other night and noticed that the pads on their paws are dried out. is there anything i can put on them so they arn't so dry? i didn't know if regular hand lotion would work or not. i know it's not painful for them but ehhh i don't want them to have dried out pads.

How dry are there pads? Are they cracking any? You can get this powder from your vet I can't remember exactly what it is called. Anyway when I lived in Palm Beach Florida I would babysit a friends lab who's feet were so dry her pads would crack and sometimes bleed. The powder was applied twice a day and Gracie's (the lab) pads quit cracking as much and they weren't near as dry. Just give your vet a quick call and they should be able to give it to you over the counter without having to see your pups. Hope this helps.

I think they are probably calusus which is good and you walk on hard and soft ground right.  I know that here we have stuff that you will probably have it is bag bomb and it is actually used for cow teets and it is an anticeptic as well.  We use if for cuts and other such things and it amazing and helps healing.
