4 year old female poodle

Maggiemae has had health problems all her life, too long to go into...but today she had bright red blood/with some matting, or clotting, (not poring blood), coming from her anus. It looked like a miscarrage, (maybe??), but coming from her anus, not vaginal area. This is a first for me. she seems her normal self other than this, and it's only happened this one time today. Does anyone know what this could be from. Thankyou so much for any responses. Linda

Welcome, Linda!

I'm SO glad to hear that Maggiemae's problem was nothing serious!  It sounds like you've got yourself quite a little group there!  We'd LOVE to see pics of everyone, and if you have pics of them in their Halloween costumes, feel free to post them in the Halloween slideshow thread!

I am really looking forward to having you as a member of our community!

It seems MaggieMae has had an anal sac burst. there is no swelling, and has been no more blood since. She seems fine and the vet did not seem to worried. Thansks for your concern. :)..

We could not begin to diagnose this on a message forum, and especially since Maggiemae has had numerous other health problems her whole life.  Whenever there is blood involved an immediate trip to the vet is in order.  Please come back and post and let us know what the vet said.
