Dog stopped eating

Our 4 year old german shorthaired pointer mix has stopped eating.  When he went to the vet on Saturday they recommended taking him to the hospital. He's been there since.  His CBC tests are in inconclusive.  They recommened a bile acice (I think) test to determine if it's his liver.  If not, then more tests and possibly an ultrasound.  The costs are adding up and as much as I hate to make it about money, we don't want to keep spending money on inconclusive tests.  Any thoughts?

Can it be that the dog food that you are feeding him it's not to his liking? I have a Golden that is worse than my 4 year old. I'm constantly telling him to go eat his food.....no joke! If the vet tells you that everythinng is fine, maybe you might want to give him another variety of dog food. Do you feed him dry or wet food?
