I don't quite get this....but don't mean to 'put you down' with my questions.

You say your girl is 64 days pregnant -but your question is "Is my Shih-tsu pregnant?"

So you don't really know if she is or not? Didn't you take her to the vet for an ultrasound as most breeders would have done probably around the month -5 week mark?

Anyway, 64 days is not unusual. At that, even 65 or so days isn't unusual (though gestation is supposed to be 63, it can vary of course)

Do keep a very careful eye on her. Take her temperature. It is likely to drop suddenly a day or so before she is due to give birth.
Please do also keep a close eye on her for any other signs of symptoms.
Going off food just prior to the birth is quite normal, and some dogs even vomit once. But she should not be running a fever (over 102) -she sould be acting happily and normally generally. She should not be in any pain except of course when she is in contractions, and should have no other worrying symptoms.
Do keep an eye also on the birth process. Straining and not producing a puppy for more than a couple of hours is not a good sign, and she needs the vet quickly.

If at any time you get the feeling all is not well with her -don't hesitate to get her to a vet quickly.

Yo should also have your regular vet -and out-of-hours number - on speed dial right now, in case of any complications with the birth, so you are ready for anything should it happen.

I wish your girl well, and hope she will be fine and birth some lovely healthy puppies.

But I must say -if you are not even sure she is pregnant by this stage, then something is not quite right.

How can you confirm that your dog is pregnant if you haven't x-rayed her stomach. Get a check up from the vet and make sure she's ok.

The gestation period for a dog is 63 days, or approximately 9 weeks.  It's possible that she didn't conceive on the day you thought she did and still has a couple of days to go.  At this stage, however, you SHOULD, in a normal pregnancy, see movement in her belly when she is laying quietly.  You should also be able to easily palpate the abdomen and FEEL puppies in  there.  Earlier in the pregnancy it takes a skilled hand to feel for puppies, but when they are ready to be born, you can see them move right through her side and if you press on her side, you should feel them.

The surest thing to do would be to have a vet palpate her abdomen for you, because the only sign that a false pregnancy will not produce that a real pregnancy will is puppies.  They will have milk and everything with a false pregnancy.  You shouldn't need to have an ultrasound done because the puppies are ready to be born so the vet will be able to feel them with no problem.  A normal office visit should be the only charge incurred, it's not like a lot of fancy diagnostic work will be necessary.

You can also monitor her temperature and that will tell you when she is going to whelp.  A normal dog's temperature is about 101.5.  When their temperature drops down to about 99, birth is usually within the next 24 hours.

I'm not sure with small dogs but larger dogs have a gestation time of 62-65 days.
You could take her to the vet and they could do an x-ray to see if she is pregnant.
Is she showing any signs of nesting?    It does sound normal but the same signs will occur with a false pregnancy.
