Maybe you could call Doc Gurney and do a "phone consult" ? He has lots of tricks up his sleeve. Not sure if he can help without seeing the dog. Have they verified that the feeding tube is in the proper place currently. Is your dog getting IV's to replace the fluids lost while vomiting? This is very important. There could be a severe electrolyte imbalance. 14 days is a long time to still be vomiting. Your dog must be extremely weak at this point. They may have to give TPN via an IV like they do with humans.
My vet (surgeon) is very aware of the situation..We are treating her with Reglan and Prilosec to treat the "Re-Gurg" and he is at a loss of what to do next??? Nothing has seemed to STOP IT....He has consulted with a few internists and theyt have recommended the same meds...I am just desperate to know if ANYTHING more can be done!! The stomach is NOT repsonding...and does this happen sometimes in stomach surgery when so much is taken out of a vital area???THANKS!!!
First of all call your VET and let them know about this. They may be able to give her medication that calms the stomach and prevents this vomiting. VERY Important. Bach Rescue Remedy may have a natural product for calming the stomach. You can read about their products online and they are given sublingually under the tongue via a dropper. Maybe the feeding tube is dislodged? I am sure you ahve done this, but I would bring the dog back in to the Vet. They can check on the tube placement. Wishing you the best. Our pets are members of our family and I feel your pain and stress. I understand how scary it is when our animals are ill. Sending your dog healing thoughts. It is best for the pancreas to rest after such a big surgery. The stomach will work again.
