My 7 month old female aussie had vomiting and diarrhea after being spayed. After 4 days of this and it being a weekend with no vet on call i gave her 1 Imodium AD tablet (she weighed 43 pounds) and after a few hours it cleared right up I also feed her the boiled chicken and rice as everyone recommended and she is fine now ! many thanks for everyone's advice!!!
How big is the lump where here spay incision is? It's not uncommon for there to be a bump where the incision is, depending on how skilled a stitcher the vet is who performed the surgery, sometimes the incision can be QUITE bumpy as it heals, and even afterward for a while. It could be coincidental, or it could mean that she ate something that you didn't know she ate and that's what's giving her the diarrhea, or it could be something more serious. Is there any reddening around the incision? Is anything oozing from it? The only way to tell for sure is to call your vet in the morning and take her in so that he can check her. Even though a spay is a very routine surgery, it's still major abdominal surgery, so please don't take chances. Let your vet take a look at her to be sure everything is OK.
