My dog's condition is the cause of my worry.

Hi,I have a pug at home of 3years of age.
since last 3-4 months we have been noticing a lot of clumps in in hair coat wherein it looks like a wound. The vet has told us to apply wokazole lotion plus.He licks his paws and scratches himself way too much.
There are lots of such wouds lookalikes in his hair coat..i make sure to clean him with a damp cloth in every 2 days, also he takes a bath in every 15days or at times earlier.
Please advise as to how do stop his itching and constant scratching..as per the vet he is going through atopy.

Dear Margot,
The vet hasnt tested any skin scrapings but he is quite sure on Atopy wherein there are lots of clumps in his hair coat..which are spreading like anything.also the place where these clumps are gone after i apply the lotion,he tends to lose hair from that part.
As per my research it is not curable can be made better though.
Please guys in case you know anything of this sort please advise.

Also i would like to mention we are pure vegeterians so he doesnt eat egg and meat etc plus we give him home made food only.

Sorry, not really sure what you are describing.  Did the Vet do any skin scrapings?  Did he mention maybe mites, flea allergy, food allergy or possible bacterial infection?

I am not sure the best way to stop the itching some bread of dogs have this issue naturally though. My grandmothers dog will bite his feet til they are raw. She puts lotion and some type of med on them. She also just has to keep a watchful eye on him. I am sorry I can't be more help. May god bless you.
