Please bring your puppy to the vet. It is totally irresponsible to purchase a dog when you cannot properly care for it. If you cannot bring it to the vet at least give her up to a dog shelter where they will do what is necessary.
Thanks for letting us know...I hope your guy will be feeling better soon...
Thanks Misfits4Me, you were a lot of help.I spoke to a family member that does taildocking for a living. He help me understand what to do.Those of you with negative remarks.I took this dog from a abusive situation and at the time i didn't know the extent of the injury.I am a person that love animals.I keep my pets up at the vet.At this time I'm having a few problems, but i will make sure he's tooken care of.
This may be what your dealing with: Gangrene is a term that refers to death of tissue while still part of the body. When the tissue turns gangrenous, it's due to infection or impairment of the blood supply. When blood supply is cut off, the malnourished tissue dies and Gandrene evolves. The condition is quite PAINFUL! When this occurs, the tissue dies and turns dark and looks SHRIVELED. This is called mummification. Treatment involves trying to restore blood supply or amputation above the injury. Antibiotics are given to prevent the spread of the condition......
oh my , cant understand how you can sit back and watch a little puppy or any animal suffer, they depend on their owners to love/feed/and take them to the dr. i would say give it to some one who can afford the puppy so it can be took care of.
You bought a puppy just 2 weeks ago and now cannot provide the medical attention he needs? Did you ask the owner about the tail dock? I know nothing about tail docking as I don't believe it's necessary...However, by what you describe, and with an owner that clearly did not know what he/she was doing, your puppy has to see a Vet. If it is infected, it won't take long for the infection to go systematic. Thus, treatment is more aggressive and expensive. Your puppy being weak is a sign that he's SICK. Puppy's are fragile and you must seek medical attention for this before it gets worse. I'm hoping that someone else here can provide you info. about what tail docking recovery would consist of. I again, cannot as I don't know.... I do hope everything turns out for your little guy.
If the tail is dying, you need to get the puppy to a vet. If not properly cared for, the necrotic tissue can spread and affect the healthy tissue around it. This puppy needs to be seen by a vet. Why is taking him to a vet not an option?
