Lovely photo of your Westie!
Our 9 year old (estimate) rescue Westie has what I call a lot of "attitude" which includes stubborn and demanding aspects.
He'll let me know he wants out or is after something I'm eating or just wants to have his dinner by first grunting ,and putting out "wimps" and if continue to ignore him he starts barking. His eyes do a lot of "talking" too - unlike other dogs I have owned or just taken care of, this Westie will stare at you, and not back down if you try to stare him down. Other dog will roll their eyes, eventually looking down or away.
The Westie is almost deaf so when I talk to him, which I often do, he has to lip read and there's some indication by his eyes, tail and other body language that he is taking it all in..There is a picture of him in my portfolil.
Hi Margot. I only foster kittens while we live here. in Costa Rica.
We stay at our home near Seal Beach part time. Pamela
I thought you were in Seal Beach? Am I confused? Lol
That us a lot of kittens. I am really not a cat person but we have had 4, mostly thanks to my daughter who then went to college. :-)
Maybe some day you will be in a position to Foster, always need Foster homes to acclimate them to every day life out of the kennels.
I'd love to help sometime when I come up to our Lake Nacimiento home.
We're still working on our house, so I usually plan going up for 2-3 months at a time.
Down here in Costa Rica I foster the Felines for our local Foundation.
Last year about this time, there were 11 kittens having a blast here!

Oh, meant to add, there are a lot that make gorgeous collars! I had some nice Martingales with matching leashes, not to mention the coats and snoods!! They need them in Winter up here.
Great!! I I am in Central Valley,Ca and helped with Greyhound Rescue for some years. We adopted one but lost him to Lymphoma, most of our dogs came from So, Ca and Arizona. Group in San Diego convinced the track in Mexico to let them take the dogs that were no longer racing, thank goodness!! Some wonderful guys get the dogs and transport them all up the State to various rescue groups. Due to family issues, we had to stop fostering. :-(
A group of us would meet at the PetsMart here on Saturday mornings to let people see the dogs and tell them about rescue, etc. dogs loved it!! Of course, the store employees spoiled them with treats. I used to have a hard time with mine as he always wanted to go through the check out with anyone!! He knew they had treats there. They don't call them Sight hounds for nothing. :-)
How darling woo weerr
There's a Greyhound Rescue Club near my CA home in Seal Beach. Once pr week all of the folks that have these Greyhound Rescue Dogs meet at a Restaurant on the Beach. It has an outdoor cafe, so they all bring their Dogs. One Lady showed me Collars she makes, they are available worldwide. Pamela
Hiw funny. One of the Greyhounds I fostered was a talker and especially if I was on the phone!!! He would stand there and kind I'd do a low woo woo woo noise until I got off the phone!!
