Prednisone side effects
My 70 lb lab mix is on Prednisone and doxycycline because he tested positive for heartworms. He has had excessive thirst peeing and panting, increased respiratory rate and heart rate .I'm concerned about this but the vet says it's necessary in order to prepare him for the immiticide injections. Anyone have a similar situation?
Those sound like normal side effects of prednisone. Nasty drug but can save a dog's life. My golden has been taking 50mg daily for 2 months and the side effects are horrible.

How is your dog now Is he taking it for heartworms too? My dog had his first Immiticide injections and the vet put him back on the prednisone again unfortunately
