A bulldog can not have a natural birth so any sign at all and she should be taken straight to the vets. If not you will loose both mum and babies.
in my case, we thought that our dog is already giving birth but after whole night long of waiting there is no puppies at all. but i noticed something, my dog is bleeding furiously and the discharge does not smell that good.. i guess she had a miscarriage... it was actually the third time, that this kind of stuff happened to her...
It started out light just a few spots and then increased. The discharge turned darkish green to black.
Is there another vet in the area where you could get a second opinion?
approx. how many days did they spot for? Was it light or heavy?
Like I said- our experience with pregnant dogs spotting ended in losing the litters both times.
I have gone to the vet, he is the one who told me it is normal for some dogs. I was wondering about other people's experiences with this?
We've had litters before and the only time they spotted or bled was at time of delivery or when they lost the litter. You really need to contact the vet. (Our dogs were not bulldogs so I don't know if it would be different between breeds)
