Swollen lymph nodes are definitely an indication that something is going on whether it be an infection or possibly a cancer. If the antibiotics didn't work, I would ask that blood work be done and at least an aspiration biopsy. Unfortunately, this was the first indicator of our Grey's Lymphoma. Do have it checked further.
When my Siberian husky had an enlarged lymph node, I assumed it was lymphoma. I took her to the vet, and it was. In fact, he discovered lots of swollen lymph nodes on her.
I gave her the chemo I could afford. She handled it well. Wish I could have continued it, even though it just treats it symptomatically and they don't really go for a cure with it because they don't want them to feel sick, not understanding the reason.
I hope your dog doesn't have it. Mine was only 7 years old.
Hello & welcome....Enlarged Lymph Nodes are NOT normal in any breed.....It indicates a problem (Some are Serious). You need to return to your Vet for a complete Blood profile if you haven't done this already.....I also would question a Tick Borne Disease. Also, it's possible that the antibiotic was not given long enough to clear the infection.....I'd go back......Take care & please let us know what happens....Karla
