Swollen lymphnode on Dogs Neck

My dog is a five year old dachshund mix. He suddenly developed a lump on his left cheek. I took him to the vet and they prescribed antibiotics for him. The vet poked it with a needle and said no fluid or blood came out which was a good sign. However, he keeps throwing up the meds and it seems like the lump has moved downwards some and seems more spend out. After reading about the cancers etc.on here I'm freaking out. Please let me know what I should do next. I'm not sure how much of the meds have actually made it into his system and he hasn't had much of an appetite lately. I'm so scared. He's my best frien!  Thank you!

I may be wrong here but it seems your vet hasn't really investigated this lump fully. A needle biopsy was done obviously. What were the results of testing the biopsy? Were cancer cells found?
Teeth -were they checked properly?
What else did the vet say or recommend about the lump and what to do next?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
By cheek, you mean the lump is on his face?  Swollen lymph nodes would be more under the jaw area.  Did the Vet check for any other swellings under his front legs in the armpit area and in the groin area. These are other locations of lymph glands.
Did the Vet give him a thorough dental exam looking for any infection, cracked teeth, etc.
so, what did the Vet think it was and why did he prescribe antibiotics?  The meds mY be upsetting his stomach and the Vet can give some medication for nausea.  You can use Pepcid but I would check with the Vet first.
Yes, Cancer is always a concern but may not be the case.
I look forward to getting a little more information before telling you to seek a second opinion.
See if maybe cooking up some chicken or hamburger and rice (make it mushy) and see if he will eat that about half an hour before you give the meds.
None of us here are Vets but try to help from collective years of experience.
Please come back to update.
