what could cause bumps all over my pit bull mix?

Yesterday my boyfriend came home from work and found bumps all over our dogs body. They varied in size from small to quarter size. He is a large dog and weighs around 80-90 pounds. He is a white pit bull mix. We gave him Benadryl and that made the bumps go down. They stayed down all night and he seemed ok this morning. We went out for a few hours and came back and the bumps were back. He has been eating the same food for months now so I don't think it's an allergy to his food. However he vomited over night and then again this morning. He doesn't seem to be feeling ill but he is scratching at the bumps. Help!

I think he needs the vet. Many times when something is wrong a dog will be very stoical and not always show they are feeling bad. And pit bulls can be very stoical.
But to vomit twice in the space of a few hours....and these lumps? (Unless the vomiting was connected with the Benadryl, which isn't a usual reaction....)

I would take him to a vet to be checked out.
