can dogs eat ice cubes?!

can dogs actually eat ice cubes on hot sunny days?! @.@

I've never heard otherwise and I've often put ice cubes in my dog's water bowls. Actually, if a dog is going to be home alone for a long time, it can be a good idea to put ice cubes in the bowl as they won't drink too much water too quickly.
When I used to travel with my dogs in crates in the car, or when I  have shipped dogs. I put ice cubes in the water cups.

absolutely they can and they love the ice. just as long as they chew it and not just swallow a big chunk
