Thank you for all the advices you gave to me. I'll try that one for my dog. One more thing, what would be the best way in giving my dog a bath? Recently, I'm giving him a bath once in a week. Or less bath for him?
General condition -that means overall fitness and health, which includes the right amount of exercise for his temperament and strength as well as good quality food. Omega 3 oils too. Oily fish (sardines, mackerel, tuna, salmon etc) are all good for dogs.
I agree with not too much bathing. It can strip a dog's natural oils. Nature puts them there for a reason and there is nothing worse than a dog washed and deodorized to within an inch of its life! A healthy dog usually has a good warm "doggy" smell, which should be pleasant and sweet.
Oh, those are cute little dogs. Don't know that I'd want to be dealing with a pure white coat al the time. :-)
Your dog is young and may not yet be into it's full adult coat. Add to the fact it is Summer. Yes, you need to feed a good quality food.
A big influence on your dog's coat will also be genetics. If there are full, long coats in your dog's background, the dog will be more likely to have inherited that.
Do not overbathe your dog. Do give the dog regular brushings, making sure to get down to the skin. Line brushing is best, esp for long-hair breeds. This also helps to stimulate the oil glands. You can supplement with some Omega 3 daily.
Good food, good grooming and genetics are going to determine the type of coat your dog will have as an adult.
His nutrition has everything to do with hair coat...If you are feeding a low quality food (From a grocery store or discount center), you need to upgrade...
Read the ingredient list on your food bag or can...You want NO grains,(Wheat, corn, soy), no by-products, no chemical additives, no digest, etc.
Good nutrition will provide what his system needs for not only hair, but his internal organs, too....Good luck, Karla
I have heard that giving them a egg, being cooked. Will add shine and luster to the coat. Its good in Protein. That might help strengthen the root of the fur. Also a good quality food for skin, he/she might have dry skin as well. We have ours on a Nutro skin sensitivity, somthing its in a light green bag. It helps with shedding and its got good vitamins in it. That is worth a try. I know some people give there dogs canned pumpkin to and its supposed to be good for them. I hope this helps. Take care
