thanks ginger899! i'm gonna ask the vet when he comes in,we talk almost every day i can walk, and he helped allot when there was no direct gain (my girlfriend went manic while i was in the E.R once, and he got a leash (brand new, and did not accept payment) so a childhood friend could walk my baby and eventually kept her until i got the IV outa my arm.
i got the vets private and office numbers as-well as e-mails,just this time things didint work out, he does service for periods of time from canine units, and city animal help + free treatment to strays.when i finally talked to him he spoke through the intercom and told me he's gonna call (in the middle of another operation,he's pushing himself), so i left him the note.we spoke yesterday while he was driving,he asked about color ouder, and level of natural oils, some more stuff, he said he's not that worried (and he's allmost sure of what went, or is going on there) but wants to see her, and just waiting for these ear-drops.
at the end i cleaned her ears and gave a double dose of parasite treatment. my girlfriends shocked that my little girl can hear, she never knew her like that, had to yell to get her to look.
for now i'm happy the way it looks with her, and yes! i got lucky, and it was NOT smart,
but i couldn't watch her like that, she was miserable!
now she's under my legs having a light barking growling dream, it's so cute! sometime she weeps so i wake her up
i agree with the both of you. the thing is it was an emergency, she could not keep her head straight, now she's relaxed, the funny thing is,now she IS reacting to my voice, i had to use a vibrating bass to get her attention to direct her to where where going (by use of body movement\language) many vets already have caused damage by panicking her using force,etc... theres only one vet i take her to.
i'm not saying what i did was right or smart(cause it sure wasn't).
but she managed to sleep, and after a vet told me she was deaf from old age, well i just spoke her name, AND SHE BOUNCED UP! she can even hear clacking of my tongue & teeth, it's been a while since she reacted to that...
thank you both, i got lucky, i did it from panic (it was VERY scary the way she held her head, she could do nothing to stop the discomfort, and i know pain! a short hour being pain free is worth the world.)
now she's just bored :-)
actually shes climbing on my chair now to order attention, so this part i write with use of one hand.
cant believe no vet scoped her ear for so long, it was just a lift & look tactic, whatever that damn thing was, it was in deep.
her vet was completely booked for operations, but he called from he's car and told me he ordered an ear drop for her.
crazy nobody noticed till it became acute,we both sit down almost every evening with the vet for coffee.
it WAS a bad idea!but it helped( this time, it's nerve recking going that deep into a dogs ear, its a long way down),she's happy, and the vet will see her in about five or six hours.
AND BY THE WAY, I DID TRY IT FIRST ON MYSELF!
Yes, alcohol is too drying for a dog's ears. I understand where you are coming from....alcohol kills many germs, so it might kill whatever's in there....but just too dangerous for her ears.
If she has ear mites, they need proper treatment from the vet.
It's never wise to poke anything or put anything into ears -be they human or canine. Unless advised to by doc. or vet.
You should not even touch her ears as you will do some permanent damage. She would be in a lot more pain now since you have been treating her ears .
You must never go near the inside of her ears she needs to be seen by your Vet and put under so he can see exactly what is going on.Think how you would have felt if it was done to you.
The poor little darling cannot protect herself from you ......please never do this to any dog again as you would have made it 10 times worse .
I would think you have punctured an eardrum and if she was not deaf before this she will be now.
Please listen to me you are not a Vet ,get her in as soon as possible and good luck.
still have about 6 hours till her vet reaches the office, really hope it's gonna clear up by then.
but she cant sleep well like this :-(
gonna take another look and use a baby wipe wet cloth. she looks frustrated, this aint good at her age, she needs to be relaxed!
gonna take a deeper look.
