Maybe he ate something that gave him a tummy ache. I recommend not giving him food for 24 hours (I used to work for a vet, so I know this is okay to do), and then when you begin feeding him again, give only small amounts at a time for a day or so. Also, do not allow him to 'gulp' water. If you must, put one cup of water in his bowl at a time. It is safe to give him pepto-bismol as well, about a teaspoonful if you can get him to take it.
