My 7 month old husky was neutered 3days ago afterwards he threw up an passed out• next two days he was very disoriented couldn't eat or stand ... Vet said his vitals are good and his pupls are dilating ... and diagnosed as blind!! Im afraid his vision will not come back!! Took him 2 a specialist they want to put him under again to run test; I refused... he was a healthy pup before surgery... its day 4 and hes blind and has slow reflexes and walks like hes drunk!! HELP!!

It is late here but I was doing a little looking around and see that anesthesia can cause blindness, nitrous oxide was mentioned.  Lack of oxygen or an underlying disorder

My 8 month Maltese mix went in to get spayed. Coming out of the surgery she died for 2 mins due to cardiac arrest. They brought her back but she was blind and back legs briefly paralyzed. Vet explained to me some dogs are born with a liver shunt, so instead of it processing through the liver like it should, it went to the brain. I was beyond upset and so sad because my little girl was playing for hours the night before the surgery. I do wanna tell you if this has happened to your pet, DONT give up!!!! When I brought her home her back legs could barley move which was a plus because they weren't at all for a couple days. Vet did lots of therapy and massaged her legs. She ran into walls none stop and if I scared her she ran into them harder. Slowly but surely she has regained her vision and strength. She is now back to her old self again thank you Jesus!! She eats foods with low amonia by purina plan rx and I swear her meds (lactulose) helped as well. So here is my input yes it's challenging but they can come out of it. It does take time so please don't give up on them. Bandi died for 2 mins and suffered brain damage. Time is what they need! I didn't realize this was more common than I thought. Lots of love and prayers, patience is the cure!! Wanted to share because I was devastated and reading so many peoples stories gave me hope.

Oh my. I have never heard of that happening. Do you by chance have a Vet school/college near you?  Like UC Davis is closest to me.  If so, I think I would contacting them for a consult.  Do you have a canine Opthomologist near you?
I would suspect maybe an anesthesia complication but I really have no idea.
Hope you can get to the bottom of this.  So sorry and please keep us posted
