Sorry about your dog and for losing your job. When it rains it pours, huh? But it is also dark before it's dawn.
Do you have a homeopathic vet in your area? I just recently started going to one and the prices are 1/2 of what my other vet's were. They are very understanding when it comes to payment also. They will even hold a check for me if I need them to.
Call around and see if there is one in your area. If not don't be afraid to call around to other vets and compare prices (office visits etc). Explain your situation and see if any of them have a payment plan. Call right away, it sounds like your dog really needs medical attention.
I hope everything will be okay.
Your dog may be getting lonley. You might want to try to get him a play-mate. Or if your dog faints yes you need to get him to a vet.
YES! I totally agree with aggie and suzi. Your lab is in serious trouble, and you're going to have to find some way of getting him medical treatment. Rescue groups are a good place to start as they usually know vets who will work with payment plans. Try your local SPCA and Humane Societies as well. If they're large enough organizations, they often provide lower cost care to the public. Start calling vet clinics in your area and ask them if they can work out a payment plan with you. All they can say is "no", and all you need is one "yes" to get started.
If worse comes to worst and you can't work something out, you have a very difficult decision to make. If the facts are that you absolutely cannot provide medical treatment for your dog, you'll have to do the best thing for the dog and surrender him to someone who can. That may mean another person willing to take on the medical problems, or the SPCA or rescue group. I know it will rip your heart out to do this, but you have to put the dog's welfare first.
Yes,i agree with aggieone...You MUST get him to the vet ASAP! Many vets will work with you and put you on a payment plan. Discuss the situation with them.
I know vet bills can be expensive, but if your lab is fainting, then you must get him to a vet immediately. Try a lab rescue in your state to see if they can help you. If he is fainting, something is terribly wrong. Try giving some liver and rice for a few meals, this will not heal him, but the nutrients may help. Above all, find a way to get him to the vet as quickly as possible. Aggieone
