puppy with a 'huffing' cough

my puppy is an 8 weeks old rottie.  We took her to the vet on Friday and got a clean bill of health. She started this huffing sounding cough yesterday, it's not productive, and it doesn't seem to effect her breathing, it just sounds weird.  I have an older 8 year old rottie, who has a mild cough but not kennel cough. Any other ideas what it could be?

Could very well be food allergies. I switched my Australian Cattle Dog to grain free food and his huffing cough was drastically reduced.

Since you had her to the vet and got a clean bill of health, presumably the vet listened to her heart and didn't detect a murmur, so that's a good thing.

Have you had your older rottie to the vet to determine the source of her cough?  It's odd that the older one has a cough and now the puppy has one.  I'm wondering if there is something in your house that is irritating their respiratory systems?

I would take them both to the vet to see what they think the problem could be.  It's just way too coincidental that the older dog has a cough and now the puppy has one.  Something is definitely going on here.  Please let us know what the vet says.
