strange behaviour after enema

strange behaviour after enema

my dog went into the emergency vet late on thursday night (2 days ago). Since we picked him up, he has been overly concious of his behind, always trying to hide it and appears very paranoid.

since the operation he has eaten once and had only a few drinks. Nor has he passed a stool or even a pee.
He is also breathing heavily and ocassionally panting. Does anyone know if these side effects are expected? And how long it is suspected until they subside?

Regards
Ashleigh.

Hi, Ashleigh,
Please could you tell us, why did your dog go to the ER? They gave him an enema, by the sound of it, but what was the reason for this?
It would be hard to give any help or advice unless you can give us more information.

Also, if he hasn't urinated in 2 days, and is panting (which is a sign of heat, distress, or pain) I do think you should take him to a vet as soon as you can. Don't wait for an answer here. Just take him to a vet now.

we took him in as he appeared to be straining his stomach and abdomen. We have rung the vet and are about to take him in to get looked at now. Thanks.

Do please post back to let us know how he's doing, if you get the chance.

I hope he is ok. Best wishes.
