I don't quite know how you're going to manage this, but even when she first comes into 'heat' and will be ready to mate, she will still not be mature enough physically, to bear the physical burden to her system of pregnancy, birthing and feeding pups.
I would wait until she is more mature, say older than 18 months before you think of breeding her. It could put undue strain on her otherwise.
As I say, I can't imagine how you will keep the two dogs separated during the 3 weeks she will be on heat. The only possible solution I can think of is if you have a very good relative or friend who can keep one of the dogs during that time?
If you do want to breed her, then of course you will want to keep her (and him?) entire. But if you really do not want to, or need to, then spaying and neutering is by far the best idea. Did you know that if you have a female spayed BEFORE her first heat, she is protected in later life to a great extent, from developing breast cancer?
The first heat cycle typically takes place between six and nine months old, but slower maturing breeds may not experience a first heat until twelve to eighteen months of age. Having said that..I was used to it being closer to 9 months until I had a dog that came up pregnant when she was 6 months old. I couldn't believe it. Just keep an eye on her. She'll show signs before she's "ready to take". They usually start going into heat and about a week into it they want to breed. If you notice him paying more attention to her and her being "snappy" about it you'll know she's going into it. I sure hope this helps. Take Care! :D
