How old is this dog and what breed? Are you home, now? Is your dog any better?
If your still on your trip, are you in the Wilderness or are you in a town? I'm thinking this is stress related & can tell you something to go buy to use.....
If your saying that your dog was possibly ill to start with, then that's a different story...Come back and let us know....Karla
I'm sorry I think I have slightly misunderstood what you meant. Did you mean she was unwell for a number of days on this trip? All the time you stayed in a different place?
If so, I think she needs to be checked out properly by the vet.
I would check her first, to make sure she is not feeling ill, doesn't want to move, shivering, shaking, etc....
If not, I would put a little honey or maple syrup in some water (not much water) and let her lick it up. I am sure she will. If she wants more give her more. She will get a little fluid down her and the sweetness will give her a little energy....
Then I would take her for a decent walk. Watch her carefully for any signs she's not well on this walk, and watch her bowel movements, that she hasn't got any problem such as diarrhea or constipation etc.
Walk her a good half hour. If she's enjoying this and seems normal, let her walk more. She may well drink a good amount of water when she gets home, and she may have an appetite.
Road trips are bad news for dogs. They endure but they can go into a sort of torpor. She may just need to get refreshed.
How long where you gone and how long have you been home?
