What did you do for the pain
Turns out it was just a mouth ulcer that way located waaaaaay at the back of my tongue (cannot be seen and too far down to reach). The pain went away within a week, just like when I get canker sores in the mouth.
Hello and hope you are doing well.
Any infection or inflammation of the base of the tongue can cause pain on movement. Sometimes injuries like thermal or chemical burns can also cause pain on movement. The other causes for pain could be GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease), where the acid contents of the stomach came up into the esophagus and peptic ulcer disease. Please consult your primary care physician for proper assessment and therapy. In the meantime, you can use OTC Acetaminophen for relief from pain.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Today the pain has actually gotten a little worse, but still no fever or body aches, and it doesn't hurt when I swallow. Not sure if it's an internal infection or a hidden canker sore inside the tongue??
If anyone can shed light on this, would be greatly appreciated!
