Tiny bump under tongue

I noticed a bump smaller than a BB under my tongue and pointed it out to my dentist when I went in for my check up today. She'd done my yearly full jaw x-rays plus the 4 bite wings and said there is no calcification and that this is a tiny clogged salivary gland most probably just thick stuff. She also said it's soft and rolls around and is down where the salivary glands are located.

She told me it might remain the same or go away.  I'm a horrible worrier and wondered if there is something I can do to make it go away.  She gave me Biotene for dry mouth (anxiety meds cause dry mouth).

There is NO discomfort. I found it by accident.  I should add that I had a full body PET scan three weeks ago (regular follow up for colon cancer) and all was clear.

Thanks for your answer. I also read to massage the  stone and I assume that's supposed to either help it move or break it up. One website said very warm water and another said warm salt water.  I got some Lemon Drops and am using those a few times a day plus loads of liquids and the Biotene 5 times a day.

Would the stone come out of the little skin flap thing that attaches to the tongue (if it comes out on its own?)

I have NO symptoms and found the spot by accident.  I will keep my eye on it daily, tho!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Aside from medications, warm compresses as well as sour candies may help  increase the flow of saliva. If symptoms persists, it is best that you have this evaluated further. If conservative measures do not work, surgery may be indicated to remove the blockage. Take care and do keep us posted.
