If there was any hearing loss or dizziness involved in this, you should report to an ENT specialist right away. Otherwise, I agree with NaveenENT's assessment with the exception of the antihistamines. This will have no effect on your situation. If ear wax was the problem, then removal of this is the answer. If you suffered a ruptured ear drum, these usually heal on their own without a problem. But again, any hearing loss or dizziness should prompt you to be see right away.

Did you have any discharge coming out of your ear or reduced hearing? if so then it would be because of bauro-trauma. If you do not have the above symptoms probably it must be Eustachian tube catarrh or impacted wax in which case the latter swells up once the water enters the ear. You can try taking some antihistaminics (eg. cetrizine/fexofenadine)and steam inhalation if it does not improve with in a day please see an ENT surgeon.
