irritation in throat

I have been experiencing something in my throat, as if something is caught in my throat, something like when you swallow a pill and it gets stuck, I have this sensation all day long, there is no pain and I am able to breath normally, I am wondering what this can be, It started about 1 week ago and It continues today, I have not choked or swallowed anything to cause this, can you give me some hints of what it might be?

Possibilities include an actual foreign body, a "scratch" from the passage of some sharp object, irritation from reflux, muscle spasm...these would probably be the most common.
