Food Addiction

Please help am 23 years old male of height - 170cm weight - 92kilograms, I used to do regular gym workouts but for the past few months i dint had a job so am depressed i stopped going to gym. i don't smoke and i don't drink but i have started eating junk food a lot like chocolates, cakes , deserts ice creams etc... i cannot control my food habit! am getting fatty day by day! i have become eataholic.

Please advise me how to over my food addiction, thanks in Advance.

Hello and welcome. Depression can cause you to eat. It becomes an emotional comfort. Because of losing your job and also stopping the gym
As caused the depression to get worse.

Have the junk food in the house. I know if it is there I will eat it. If not my
Temptation is greatly reduced. Try getting yourself out of the house more.
Keep yourself busy with healthy activities.
Snack on natural sugars, fruits, and for salty cravings eat peanuts and popcorn.
Yes therapy would also help. Have you been job hunting again?

There is an Eating Disorders Thread on this forum; that may be a better place for you to post about your problem.

For what it is worth, however, have you though about joining Overeaters Anonymous?  Or therapy?
