Off and on for seven years

Hello Im a male who suffers Bulimia I have been doing it off and alot of the time on for the last 6-7 years(almost ever day for awhile)..I just kicked and and havent done it for 2 months. Im scared something is wrong with me I feel no throat pain or anything like that I had to go to the ER for head pains and I told him about my condition and he asked me if I have ever had my Thyroid checked I said no and he told his nurse they would have to run more labs( they had blood of mine) he gave me a shot for the pain told me to rest and the nurse came back and told me I had a headache and I was free to go..I just wanted to know can they tell anything about your tyroid from blood? lol thank you

Good for you! Keep up the good work; I've been in recovery for 15 years (no bingeing, no purging, no sugar at all) after a lifetime of bulimia, so it is definitely possible! But if you feel the urge to binge and purge strongly again, do seek help from a counselor and or OA.

Yeah never brought it up again after I he said we would do more lab work so Im guessing everythings ok but I have a doctors app in a half an hour I will ask him..Im never doing it again my life means more to me than my image..thank you

Yes, thyroid secretes a hormone and the level can be checked in your blood. If your thyroid is low it can contribute to weight gain as well as affect many other things including mood. It's a good thing to have checked and if you are low (or high) it can be treated with medication.
