My 2yr old daughter has been having feeding issues ever since she was a baby. As a baby she had severe reflux and had every medication under the sun you can think of. She can go days without wanting anything to eat, and when I do get her to eat it takes me about 2hrs just to get her to take one bite and then for her to scream and says she's done. We have tried pediasure, boost, ensure, carnation breakfast blends and she doesnt like them. she doesnt like ice cream, smoothies, yogart, ceral bars, or any type of fruit except applesauce. She often tells us that she doesnt like food..her words are "food yuck" Sometimes she will take a few bites of french fries or chicken nuggets. She goes weeks without having a BM because there isnt anything to poop out. She gets her calories from milk, she rather drink milk than eat or drink anything else. I've tried cutting back on her milk and that doesnt help. She gets dehydrated often and has to go to the hospital to get IV fluids. My daughter also has seizures and is on medications, sometimes shell take it and sometimes it's a struggle. If we force my daughter to eat she will gag herslef to make herself throw up, and I dont know where she learned to do that. Im at my wits end and dont know what else to do. She doesnt like anyone near her mouth, its hard for me to get her to brush her teeth at times, she gags when the toothpaste hits her mouth. Do you think she needs a tube placed in? She had the NG tube when she was a baby but wasnt long therapy, just a couple of days and she just kept pulling it out. Any suggestions?
