This sounds like endo and when your doctor says that he will just "pop" the cyst I hope that means he is going to drain it. If it is pop like when a person pops a ballon and you have endo and that cyst is full of endo then it is going to spread the endo and make everything even worse.
My sister's first doc (not an endo specialist) tried to remove her cyst and instead it burst and spread endo everywhere (he did not even tell her she found out when she got her records to see an excellent endo specialist) because it burst it spread adhesions and endo everywhere.
Hi,
I had very similar pains to what you have described. The docs kept saying it was endometriosis, but the only way they could diagnose that was with a laparoscopy, so I kept putting it off. After all other tests and months of agony, I finally had my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on Friday. I havent had my consultation yet, but I was told at the hospital that everything was fine. So I'm guessing that means I don't have endometriosis?! Back to square one :(
They are not true periods meaning that you don't produce a thick normal cycle lining. You don't go through ovulation and all of that. So when you do have a period it's a "light" one.
I was VERY scared. I had never been sick, never had a broke bone and NEVER had to be put to sleep for anything and now I was having surgery. Very very scared. My surgery went fine. I was out like a light and next thing I heard was someone saying "desarae, wake it, it's all over with". The only problems I had was I had some cramping and that "tight' feeling in my bellybutton where they go in at. I did have some vaginal pains. They would come on all of a sudden and that's from the hysteroscopy. As far as long time problems I never had any at all. Matter of fact my surgery was on a Friday and that next Friday I was camping and canoeing. :D I did have the shoulder pains though that lasted about 2 days. Just felt really achey in my shoulder and that was from the gas they used. I also had a little bleeding afterwards and they told me I should get a period within 10 days after surgery but by that Sunday I had started and it only lasted 2 full days. Are you going to stay on the pill? I came off of it the day I had my surgery because I've been TTC. I did have the tightness in my chest from the gas. That lasted about a day though. It helps to have a recliner. Don't lay flat down because that makes it feel worse. If you have a recliner or if you can even recline on the couch that's the best way to rest. :) I sure hope you don't have endo but at least if you do you'll know the reason as to why you hurt so bad. I think the worst part would be not finding anything and not knowing why, but that's just me. I do however still have that constant lower back pain but he thinks it's something to do with my pelvic area so he's wanting to send me to a pelvic specialists. I do alot of manual labor. My dad owns his own company and he does footings and french drains so I've been shoveling rock since I was 17. I think that has really messed up my back and on top of the endo and things, it has really done a number and causing all this constant lower back pain. Anyways, enough about that. I wish you the best with your surgery. I'm crossing my fingers that everything turns out well. You have a wonderful and easy recovery and you're able to return to "normal" as soon as possible. Good luck on quitting smoking. I have alot of smokers in my family and I know it's hard. Thank god I never wanted to do it but I married a smoker as well and I've seen him and my mom struggle with trying to quit. Quitting though will help in your recovery. :) I'm still here if you need me. :) Take care. If I don't hear from you after this please let me know how your surgery went. :D
Thankyou so much for the information you have given me. I would not be at all suprised if they tell me I have endometriosis, although I'm hoping not.
The only symptom that I don't have is bleeding between periods or after sex, not even spotting. Although, this may be due to being on the pill for about 20 years, as the gyno said I wouldn't know what a real period of mine was like anyway, as they are not true periods on the pill???
I will be glad if it is not this, and I want to know the reasons for my nagging, almost constant pain, but, I just hope it's nothing worse.
It is good to talk to someone with exactly the same symptoms, except for the bleeding.
i am getting it done on a Wednesday, and taqking the rest of that week of and the following. I am hoping that will be enough. the gyno said I will only need the Wed, Thurs and Fri off, but after reading so many people's comments on this site, and talking to others in my town, they all seem to suffer for 2-3 weeks.....
Did you have problems with any of these things after op? :
Bleeding/discharge, pain form the gas they put in you, that apparently feels like you are having a heart attack, pain in your belly button, alot of trouble with bowel movements?
It is great for me to hear (even though you suffered the same pain for some time afterwards), that you are now doing good. That's what I hope for me, PAIN FREE!!!!!!!
Do you smoke? I am a smoker, and giving up on 16th August, op on 25th.
Need to give up for that, and also gyno drummed it in to me about how much the risks increase for a smoker over 35, who is taking an oestrogen based contraceptive!!!!!
I am so not looking forward to it, as I suffer greatly with anxiety, and the other 2 times I gave up I was unbearable (my boyfriend has already given me a little lecture, that he does not want to be the same this time, he is also giving up with me, but is a VERY VERY calm person). But, I just have to keep telling myself that this time, I have 2 even better reasons to give up for.
Were you scared about the op, and any complications? I AM!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, sounds very much like what I had.
I had mild endo, a polpy in the middle of my uterus and a cyst on my fallopian tube. They removed all of it on the 25th of June. They did a lap and a hysteroscopy like yourself . My symptoms were. LOTS of unbearable pain. I would pass out, throw up from the pain. It was that bad about 2 weeks before I would start my period. I went from taking tylenols, to 4 tylenols to taking half a pain pill on to taking the full pain pill. Nothing helped anymore. The only thing that did help was I have such a low tolerance to medicine that the pain pill would knock me out. I'd sleep around 5 or 6 hrs, sleeping through the pain helped. My stomach and lower back hurt constantly. Well lower stomach and it would hurt so bad I couldn't even wear panties. I would go lay in the bed naked and even the sheets touching my stomach would hurt worse. With my lower back hurting constantly it was all the time. Not specific times during the month. On top of all of this towards the end before I had my surgery I would have pain in my thighs, my hips, it would go down into my calves.I would hurt so bad while trying to have a bowel movement that I would have to stop completely. Sometimes the pain was so bad I couldn't sit. Sex was awful. I got to where I didn't want to have sex AT ALL. It wasn't worth it to me. I felt so bad for my husband but he understood. I would also have irregular bleeding. Bleeding through the month, bleeding after sex. Sometimes I'd have 2 periods a month and sometimes I'd bleed during the month for no reason. I would also bleed during the month when i'd do really strenuous work.
They tried me on birth control for a yr and a half but that didn't help. It did for the first 5 months then it's like everything came back as bad if not worse. SO off to surgery. Thank GOD that helped. If you have any questions please ask. I know what it's like as i'm sure there are others here that can help as well. It was really rough about 2 weeks after surgery. I even complained that the pain was still there at my post surgery visit. He said give it at least 2 months and now I feel great. Had a period and it was ok. Nothing to complain about thankfully. Sex is better now too. :) I wish you the best and hope I have helped. Again if you need to ask anything please do. :) Take Care!
