Endomertriosis Surgery

I'm undergoing another surgery soon and the doctor suggested Presacral Nerve Plexus. Anyone have any experience with this? Are the risks high? Does it help?

What do you mean as well? So a PSN and another one? What you have posted above I have never heard of when it comes to Endometriosis so I can't help in that area but as for the PSN there are many risks.

If your doctor is not a skilled Endo surgeon the risks are high. I had a very skilled surgeon and the surgery went well. Did it help? There is no way to know because I had complete excision surgery which is imperative in treating Endo along with the PSN. I have also been on the pill since my first surgery in 2007 so I don't get periods but when I have come off it for 2 months this year the pain was horrible but better than it used to be.

As for pain I had deep infiltrating Endo so there was deep dissection of the pelvic wall, bladder and rectum so I would say I wouldn't know as the pain was severely intense when I woke up and at least for the first week. I don't think it hurts and I don't think that you feel any different.

Did it help? I really don't know as my disease was far gone and has destroyed my bowels, ureters and bladder so I am in pain regardless and still get uterus pain.

So to be honest, I don't know if it made a difference or not. The side effects are constipation, urinary issues, and possible nerve damage.

Are you talking about a PSN? Presacral Neurectomy?  This is when they sever the nerves from the uterus to the spine to stop the pain signal from going to the brain. Please let me know as yes I had this done for severe endometriosis this is a procedure done for women with Stage III and stage IV

Thank you Eve.  I have googled this with my mom as well. It's hard to tell how dangerous it is because 50% of people do fine with it and have no problems, but the other 50% have serious damage that are forever there. Ugh :(

Hello there,

I have never heard of this type of surgery, but one idea is to goggle Presacral
Nerve Plexus and see what you can find out about this. Good luck. Eve
