Visanne hormonal treatment

Hello, i was recently diagnosed with endo and my doctor put me on visanne. It's been 2 weeks now since i started the treatment, i don't have that much pain but i feel really really tired and a bit depressed. I also had my period a few days back which lasted about 6 days.

Why change? I can't remember if there is only a certain amount of time you can be on it like Lupron but if it works keep using it. However if there is limited time then there shouldn't be much of a difference as I didn't have any however everyone is different

Hello. It's been 8 months since i started visanne and everything is great. No major side effects, no pain, no bleeding. I should be switching to birth control pills next month and i am scared about this hormonal change. What to expect, since i don't have any estrogen now? How will my body and mind react to this change?

I have never tried that one. I guess its good to try and see if it helps. Some people are different on different meds. I take Marvelon and it works amazing for me but nothing else does. If you don't feel happy on it then come off it and ask to try another one. It's really trial and error unfortunately

Thank you for your answer. I've talked to my doctor and he suggested that i should switch to danazol, but the side effects, from what i've red so far, are far more worse than visanne. Any suggestions?

Yes this is a very common side effect for progesterone only. Remember you are not getting any estrogen so it will mess with everything.

When I was on it I started to get acne on my chest, face, back and neck.

The depression hit its peak for me after 3 months and I became suicidal. I just can't be on progesterone only my body does not like it at all. However everyone is different. I know a girl on it that is doing great.

I should say also that for the first two months I would get stabbing pelvic pains randomly as well, not sure if you have had that yet.

I forgot to ask, is this common? Can it get any worse than this?
